Aaron Ash, or better known as Yamimash, was sitting at his desk in the late hours of the evening looking for something to do. He had just finished a simulator game and wanted to find something a little more interesting to do.
He sighed, his eyelids nearly dropping from boredom until a call came in through Skype. He checked the name and a burst of energy flashed through him.
"Ma'k? Hello?" He made sure his camera was working before smiling to the American on the screen, also known as Markiplier.
"Hi Yami! Is it late for a call?"
"You always call late, Ma'k," Yami said with a laugh. "Whatcha holdin' there Ma'k?" Yami asked as he pointed to a plush in Mark's hands.
"Oh, this?" Mark held up a box plush with a cute little face on it. "This is Tiny Box Tim!"
"Tiny Box Tim? For what?"
"Someone made it for me and gave it to me at PAX east the last time we met."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah! He was from a game I played! It was awesome to get this!" Mark exclaimed with a bright smile. Yami nodded and an idea popped into his head.
"You want to play a quick game of Slender?"
"Sure!"
------
As the hours went by, Yami looked outside to see the bright stars in the sky. He had already nearly pissed his pants several times and thought it would be a good time to dial down, especially since his neighbors might think he was crazy. That's when he caught a hint of a song through the call.
"Hey, Ma'k?" he asked when he turned back to the camera, exiting out of the game.
"Yeah?"
"That song...is it coming from you?"
"What, Counting Stars?"
"Yeah, that..."
"Uh, yeah Yami. It's like...one of the best songs ever!" Yami paused, listening to the song for a little.
"It's really nice."
"Yeah, it is!" Mark smiled through the camera, pausing. "Hey Yami, I was wondering if we could do something...I've been wanting to try it since the song came out."
"What is it?" Yami asked, curious.
"First, go outside."
"But Ma'k, I can't bring my computer out there."
"You got a laptop or something?"
"Yeah."
"Go, I'll wait."
"Okay. Hold on." After getting reconnected again, he smiled through the working camera. "Can you hear me?"
"Loud and clear."
Yami made his way outside and stood against a balcony. He saw Mark doing the same on his own front porch.
"Sing with me, Yami."
"W'at?"
"Sing the song with me!" Mark said with a smile.
"But I can't sing for shit!"
"Just do it."
"Okay..." Yami started singing with Mark, starting off a little shaky before getting really into it.
"Cuz baby, I've been, I've been losing sleep."
"Dreaming about the things that we could be."
"And baby I've been, I've been praying hard!"
"Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars."
"Yeah we'll be counting stars." Yami smiled as the song went on, dancing along to it and nearly dropping his laptop.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, nope!" Yami caught it and rebalanced it on the rail.
"Hey Yami!"
"Yeah?"
"Let's hold hands."
"Hold hands?" Yami asked with a blush.
"Yeah. Come on. Reach for the stars. And maybe if we close our eyes, we can almost feel each other." Yami nodded and got silent as the song droned on and he raised his hand into the sky. He closed his eyes and inhaled slowly. He couldn't actually hold Mark's hand, which saddened him as he longed to be beside him. The least he could do was imagine, he guessed. He smiled as he imagined the warm, big hand of Mark clasping his own as it held on, as if for dear life.
Yeah we'll be counting...stars..
He opened his eyes to the sound of laughter, and turned back to Mark.
"W'at? W'at is so funny Ma'k??"
"Your face is so red! Aha, oh you're so cute Yami."
"Sh-shut up!" Yami covered his face, smiling under his hands.
"Hey, one day, we'll meet and hold hands beneath the stars, Yami."
"One day...you promise?"
"I promise. And so does Tiny Box Tim!"
Yami smiled and yawned. "I..I think I'll go to bed now, Ma'k."
"Okay! I'll call you again later Yami!"
"Okay....mmm..."
"Hey Yami."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I...I love you too, Ma'k," Yami said with a sheepish smile.
"Don't forget to count the stars, because each star you see shows how much love I have for you. You light up my night sky."
"S-stop being so cheesy. Good night!"
"Night Yami," Mark said with a grin, blowing him a kiss and waving goodbye with Tiny Box Tim. Yami pretended to catch the kiss before they hung up.
"Together...we'll be counting...stars..." Yami hummed this to himself as he fell asleep.

No Matter What (Markimash)
“Do you want to play through it a little before we start recording?”
Yamimash and Markiplier were curled up on Mark’s couch. It was around midnight, and they wanted to play a new horror game.
“I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try it out first,” Mark replied, keeping the nervousness out of his voice. He had never been so close to Yami, ever. AND they were going to play a horror game, so chances were Yami was going to be screaming/crying/grabbing onto the closest thing in fear. Which happened to be Mark. He couldn’t deny the fact that he was a little excited.
“Let’s go then!” Yami said,

Telling the World (Markimash)
Yami shifted nervously in his chair; resting his head on Mark’s shoulder as his anxiety grew.
“Mark, are you sure this is a good idea?”
Mark gave the younger man a quick peck on the cheek before returning his attention to the recording equipment.
“It’ll be fine Yami. Besides, I’ve never kept anything from my subscribers, and I most certainly am not about to change that.”
“But Mark-“
Yami was cut off when Mark pressed a gentle yet firm finger to his lips, a reassuring smile on his face.
“Relax Yami. I know my fans will accept this for what it is. And besides, for every hater the
